Quality & Support
ITS Heat Pumps provide reliable, energy-efficient pool heating with inverter technology and smart control, ensuring consistent temperature, lower running costs, and long-term durability for larger pool installations.
Installing two pool heat pumps in parallel (where the water flow splits and passes through both heaters simultaneously) is required over a series installation for three primary reasons:
- Maximises Heating Efficiency: Heat pumps transfer heat most efficiently when there is a large temperature gap between the air/heating elements and the water. A parallel setup feeds the coldest pool water into both units simultaneously. In series, the second unit receives already-warmed water from the first, drastically lowering its efficiency.
- Prevents Flow Bottlenecks: Heat pumps require a specific, high volume of water flow function safely. Forcing the entire pool's water volume through the narrow internal heat exchangers of two units in a single line (series) creates high hydraulic resistance, straining your main pool pump. Parallel plumbing cuts this resistance in half.
- Ensures System Redundancy: If one heat pump fails or requires maintenance, a parallel configuration allows you to isolate and bypass that specific unit. The second heat pump can continue running and heating the pool normally. In series, a failure in one unit completely blocks or disrupts the entire loop.
