Shipping & Delivery Policy

This Shipping & Delivery Policy forms part of the Terms of Service of Green Watt Energy Solutions (PTY) Ltd (“we,” “our,” “us”). It is designed to provide clear, fair, and transparent information in accordance with applicable South African consumer protection and e-commerce guidelines.


1. Delivery Area

  • We deliver within South Africa and, by prior arrangement, to select neighbouring countries.
  • Fragile items (including but not limited to solar panels/modules) are restricted to delivery within Gauteng Province due to handling risks.
  • Customers outside Gauteng may:
    • Arrange collection, or
    • Appoint their own courier or transport provider (subject to prior notification and approval).
  • We reserve the right to decline delivery to locations that are unsafe, inaccessible, or impractical. In such cases, an alternative solution (collection or third-party transport) will be offered.

2. Order Processing & Delivery Timeframes

  • Orders are processed once payment has been received and cleared.
  • Standard delivery timeframe: 2–7 working days (excluding weekends and public holidays).
  • Custom, bulky, fragile, or special-order items may require additional handling time.
  • Delivery timelines are estimates and may be affected by factors beyond our control, including:
    • Courier delays
    • Load-shedding or infrastructure disruptions
    • Weather conditions
    • Industrial action or national emergencies

We will communicate any material delays as soon as reasonably possible.


3. Delivery Fees & Pricing Transparency

  • Delivery charges are not included in product pricing unless explicitly stated.
  • Shipping costs are calculated based on:
    • Size and weight (actual or volumetric)
    • Delivery location
    • Handling requirements (heavy or fragile goods)

Delivery charges will either:

  • Be displayed at checkout, or
  • Be quoted and approved prior to dispatch

Additional Notes:

  • Selected items (e.g., air conditioners and heat pumps) may qualify for free delivery.
  • Adding non-qualifying items to such orders may result in additional delivery charges.
  • Standard delivery fees start from approximately R120, increasing based on order size and weight.
  • Orders will not be dispatched until delivery charges are accepted.

4. Tracking & Communication

  • Tracking details will be provided where available once the order is dispatched.
  • Customers are responsible for ensuring that:
    • Delivery details are accurate
    • Contact numbers are reachable

Failure to provide correct information may result in delays or additional charges.


5. Risk, Liability & Transit Conditions

  • Orders are dispatched according to customer instructions.
  • Risk in the goods transfers to the customer upon dispatch from our premises or upon collection by:
    • The customer, or
    • A customer-appointed courier
  • By default:
    • Shipments are sent without transit insurance
    • Optional insurance is available upon request prior to dispatch (recommended for high-value items)
  • Green Watt Energy Solutions:
    • Takes reasonable care in packaging and handling
    • Uses reputable transport providers
    • Disclaims liability for loss or damage in transit caused by:
      • Theft
      • Fire
      • Courier negligence
      • Accidents
      • Other unforeseen events beyond our control
  • Additional packaging/handling fees may apply for fragile goods such as solar panels.

6. Inspection, Damage & Claims

  • Customers must inspect goods:
    • Upon delivery, or
    • At the point of collection
  • Any issues must be reported within 48 hours of receipt, including:
    • Visible damage
    • Missing items
    • Incorrect goods

Reports must include:

  • Photographs
  • Delivery details
  • Order reference

Where applicable, we will:

  • Assist in lodging claims with the courier, and/or
  • Facilitate a resolution in line with applicable consumer protection laws (repair, replacement, or refund where appropriate)

7. Collection Option

  • Customers may collect orders from our premises by prior arrangement.
  • Goods will only be released to the authorised party.
  • Inspection at collection is mandatory.
  • A signed collection note serves as confirmation of goods received in good condition.
  • Collection by the customer or their courier constitutes completion of the order.

8. Failed Deliveries

If delivery cannot be completed due to:

  • Incorrect or incomplete address
  • Customer unavailability
  • Refusal of delivery
  • Any customer-related issue

Additional redelivery fees may apply. Customers will be notified before reattempting delivery.


9. Storage Fees for Uncollected Goods

  • Orders not collected or accepted within a reasonable timeframe after notification may incur:
    • Storage fees
    • Handling charges

Customers will be notified prior to such charges being applied.


10. Order Issues, Cancellations & Refunds

If we are unable to fulfil an order due to:

  • Stock limitations
  • Logistics constraints
  • Service restrictions

We will:

  • Notify the customer promptly
  • Issue a full refund for undelivered goods

Refunds will be processed via the original payment method, unless otherwise agreed.


11. Customer Responsibilities

Customers agree to:

  • Provide accurate delivery information
  • Ensure safe and reasonable access for delivery
  • Be available to receive goods within the estimated timeframe
  • Follow manufacturer handling and installation guidelines after receipt

Customers may appoint their own courier, provided:

  • Prior notice is given, and
  • All arrangements are confirmed with us beforehand

12. Compliance with Consumer Protection Laws

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights available under applicable South African consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Protection Act (CPA).

Where required, we will provide remedies such as:

  • Repair
  • Replacement
  • Refund

in accordance with these laws.
